Wallflower by Chad Lutzke – Book Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reading this was akin to reading my life story. It’s far too easy to fall into the trap of fake bliss. The slow descent of Chris from rebellious teen to full time addict was a difficult read. His interest to ‘try it’ with his cockiness that it would just be a one time thing was heartbreaking. His denial and constant excuse making for his ‘just one more’ was all too familiar.

His growing bond with Dave, his ‘teacher’, was sincere deep emotional turmoil. He grew so close to him only to become him.

Wallflower is a wonderful heart wrenching read. It comes from a place of knowing. It feels so personal and I’m sure it feel that way to more than myself.

I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. It’s a short read yet filled with tragic intensity.
